How to Set up Your Personal Phone for Automatic Updates – Android

Step 1: Set up automatic app updates

Watch a step by step video. Note google has changed step 2 but they have not updated the video. My written instructions below show you a more accurate step 2 process.

To set up updates for individual apps on your device:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app Google Play
  2. Tap the circle to the right of the search bar (See picture on the right)
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap General
  5. Tap Auto-update apps
  6. Select Over Wi-Fi only

The app will update automatically when updates are available.

Check for MAP ARC app updates (If needed)
  1. Go to the Play Store
  2. Search for MAP ARC and select the WashU Med app
  3. Click Update if it is available. If it says Open it means that there are no updates

  1. Go to the Play Store
  2. Search for MAP ARC and select the WashU Med app
  3. Click Update if it is available. If it says Open it means that there are no updates

Step 2: Set up automatic software updates

  1. Open your device’s Settings app
  2. Tap Software Update > turn on Auto download over Wi-Fi
  3. Tap on Download and Install (if available)

Step 3: Confirm you’re done!
